Welcome back to Crew Tips, a weekly series that gives you best practices and simple steps for making the most out of your Crew app, on both Android and iOS. Last week, we covered how to use Gold Stars on Crew.
While Gold Stars are a fantastic way to recognize the work and efforts of your team members, another great way to boost morale and build team culture is to keep track of and celebrate your team members’ birthdays. This week, we’re looking at the easy steps to add this functionality into your Crew app.
Admins can add the Birthdays Add-on through the Admin tab in three simple steps:
1. In the Admin tab, select ‘View all add-ons’ 
2. Scroll down to ‘Birthdays’
3. Tap ‘Add’ 
Pro Tip: You can customize your settings within the Birthdays add-on with options to send birthday celebrations at a specific time of day (morning, afternoon or evening) so you never miss anyone’s special day. Simply select the time of day you want and tap ‘Done’. 
Birthday shout-outs will then appear as a message in the ‘Everyone’ chat, with as many as four employees who celebrate on the same day listed by name. Over four employees with the same birthday, a general birthday celebration will still go out.
Individual team members can then easily click the link in the shout-out to send a personalized message to the team member celebrating.
