Welcome back to Crew Tips, a bi-weekly series that gives you best practices and simple steps for making the most out of your Crew app, on both Android and iOS. In our last installment of Crew Tips, we talked about how to keep things streamlined with a post on how to delete a Group from Crew.
This week, we’re looking at an even bigger step in keeping Crew tailored to only what you need: deleting an Organization. You can learn more about the differences between a Group and an Organization in this post, and this post will also help you understand how to set up Crew for your team and what you need.
To remove an Organization, first start by removing all of your team members from the Org in three easy steps:
1. Go to the Coworkers screen and tap “Manage” next to your Coworkers list
2. Select the name of the person you want to remove
3. Tap “Remove”
Next, remove yourself from the Organization in four easy steps:
1. Tap your Profile photo at the top of the screen (Android: right) (iOS: left)
2. Select “View Profile"
3. Under “Organizations,” tap “Edit” next to the organization you’d like to remove from your profile
4. Tap “Leave Organization” and confirm it
Be aware that there is no confirmation step; once you tap “Remove” the name will immediately be erased from your Coworkers list. Once you have removed someone from the Organization they will no longer be able to access any of the messages they sent through Crew, and they will be unable to use Crew to contact any of the Organization’s employees.
Their contributions to older group threads will still be visible to everyone else, so you’ll need to delete those manually if you don’t want them to appear going forward.
Note: Only Admin-level team members have the ability to remove people from an Organization.
